Domo Arigato, Mr Roboto – How Forex Robots Can Improve Your Trading

“Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto.” Translated, this means; Thank you very much, Mr. Robot. If you’re old enough, you recognize this as a classic STYX song. How many times did you find yourself at least able to repeat the refrain, learning some Japanese in the process?

The lyrics continue: “I’m not a robot without emotions, I’m not what you see I’ve come to help you with your problems so we can be free I’m not a hero, I’m not a savior, forget what you know I’m just a man who’s circumstances went beyond his control Beyond my control, We all need control I need control, We all need control (Thank you very much oh Mr. Roboto For doing the jobs that nobody wants to) Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto (And thank you very much oh Mr. Roboto For helping me escape just when I needed to)”

While all of the above might not be pertinent, I chose this song to illustrate how a robot would assist you in your Forex trading. A Robot, more commonly referred to as an EA or “Expert Adviser”, would do the job that nobody wants to, or can, for that matter. Robots have been around for a number of years and can be obtained by searching for either a “Forex trading robot” or an “expert adviser”. I’ve tried many of them, with some success, but I could never afford the type of account that would allow for a virtual private server, or VPS, that would allow me to turn off my computer in the middle of a trade. A VPS would be ideal for hosting the expert adviser remotely and then you would not leave your computer on all of the time, which makes it more susceptible to hacking and intrusion. I’m almost convinced that that was the cause of a recent hack of my system recently and discontinued the practice of leaving it on all of the time. For an account size of $2000 or more, you can obtain free VPS from a number of brokers, notably FXCM. Not a lot of people who want to get involved with Forex trading have the luxury of sitting in front of their computer and watching as the candlesticks rise and fall. Most of us have a day job, although that could be a point of debate in this economy. When you’re done with your day job, it does sound interesting and adventurous to go home and trade at night. Don’t you need sometimes, as the above lyrics suggest, to escape? Forex trading can be that type of escape, filled with danger and excitement.

As the first part of the song suggests also, the need for control motivates most currency traders to sit and watch the screen, fearful that a sudden news event might wreck havoc on their positions. Sitting and watching the computer screen for hours, gleeful as the chart rises and worrisome as it declines. It is in this regard, that the song has one other message.

“I’ve got a secret I’ve been hiding under my skin My heart is human, my blood is boiling, my brain IBM So if you see me acting strangely, don’t be surprised I’m just a man who needed someone and somewhere to hide”

All of us are, indeed, human. When, in the fast paced world of currency trading, some outside factor does occur, we tend to react as humans do, with emotion. Forex robots do help the individual trader, who wishes to remain human with blood boiling, to avoid the mistakes that invariably happen in these circumstances. When your heart is human but your blood is boiling, you can thank your lucky stars that your “brain” is your robot. It doesn’t know any emotion and just trades. Improve your trading today.
